By downloading, installing, or using JodNote, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the application.
License Grant
JodNote is licensed under the MIT License. Subject to your compliance with these terms, techformist grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install JodNote
- Use JodNote for personal or commercial purposes
- Modify the source code (subject to MIT License terms)
- Distribute copies (subject to MIT License terms)

Acceptable Use

User Responsibilities
Data Management
You are solely responsible for:
- Backing up your notes - JodNote provides no automatic backups
- Data security - Securing your computer and note data
- Data loss - We are not liable for any data loss
- Recovery - Implementing your own backup and recovery procedures
Lawful Use
You agree to:
- Use JodNote in compliance with all applicable laws
- Not store illegal content in your notes
- Not use JodNote to facilitate illegal activities
- Comply with export control laws

Your Content

- Has NO access to your notes
- Claims NO ownership of your content

JodNote is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
techformist DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability - No guarantee the software is suitable for any purpose
- Fitness for Purpose - No guarantee it meets your specific needs
- Non-Infringement - No guarantee it doesn't infringe third-party rights
- Accuracy - No guarantee of error-free operation
- Reliability - No guarantee of uninterrupted service
- Data Integrity - No guarantee against data loss or corruption
Limitation of Liability
NO LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, techformist SHALL NOT BE LIABLE for any damages whatsoever.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Direct Damages - Any direct loss or damage
- Indirect Damages - Lost profits, data loss, business interruption
- Consequential Damages - Any damages arising from use or inability to use
- Special Damages - Any special, incidental, or punitive damages
- Data Loss - Loss of notes, corruption, or any data-related issues
Maximum Liability: If any liability is found despite these limitations, techformist's total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for JodNote (which is $0).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless techformist and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of JodNote
- Your violation of these terms
- Your violation of any law or regulation
- Content you store in JodNote
- Your distribution of modified versions
Modifications to Terms
techformist reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted on this page.
- Your Responsibility: Check this page periodically for changes
- Continued Use: Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
- No Notice: We are not obligated to notify users of changes
Modifications to JodNote
techformist reserves the right to:
- Modify or discontinue JodNote at any time
- Change features or functionality
- Release updates that may change behavior
- Cease development or support
No Obligation: We have no obligation to maintain, support, or update JodNote.
Third-Party Software
JodNote incorporates open-source software. See Tech Stack for a list of dependencies and their licenses.
You agree to comply with the licenses of all third-party components.
Termination
By You
You may stop using JodNote at any time by uninstalling it.
By Us
We may terminate or suspend your access to JodNote (e.g., blocking updates) if you violate these terms. In practice, this is unlikely given the local-first nature.
Effect of Termination
- Your license to use JodNote ends
- You should uninstall the software
- Data stored locally remains under your control
- Provisions regarding liability and warranties survive termination
Export Compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable export laws and regulations. You represent that:
- You are not located in an embargoed country
- You are not on any government list of prohibited parties
- You will not use JodNote for prohibited end-uses (e.g., weapons development)
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and MIT License, constitute the entire agreement between you and techformist regarding JodNote.
No Waiver
Failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes shall be resolved through:
- Good Faith Negotiation - First attempt
- Mediation - If negotiation fails
